Here Comes Susie Snowflake!
This morning was so much fun! First- we woke up to Bryan running at full speed into the bedroom yelling "Randi get up! IT'S SNOWING!" I stood by the window with Michelle for a little bit to let her see the snow, but quickly decided it would be way more fun to let her actually feel the snow. And just like any kid would she LOVED it!
Thanksgiving is over, the tree is up, and Susie Snowflake has come to town- Merry Christmas everyone!

God's Sense of Humor
I know I don't usually post on Sundays, but this just couldn't wait!
At 9:00 this morning I had a presidency meeting- leaving Michelle to Bryan's care. Well Bryan decided that while I was at my meeting he was going to take Michelle for a walk. When he came home, and my meeting was over, it was almost 10:30 so I had just enough time to feed Michelle and get us out the door and to church on time. While I was feeding Michelle I asked Bryan how his walk was. He told me that it was very relaxing and that Michelle had actually taken a nap. He then explained that while he was on his walk he got a strong feeling that we should stay home from church today and study our scriptures together. I reminded him that there is a reason we go to church and that we are not able to get that from reading the scriptures. He responded that he knew that and that in his head he knew we should be going to church, but he really felt that we should stay home and spend time together reading scriptures. After a few huffs and puffs I told him that if he really felt strongly about it that he could stay home and read, but Michelle and I were going to church. Well, he huffed back and said that he REALLY felt like we were supposed to do things as a family today! I told him that he should pray about it and let me know what he felt after praying. So he did. At this point there was only about 2minutes left before we had to leave or we would be late. After two minutes of me packing Michelle up and putting her things in the diaper bag I asked Bryan if he had gotten an answer to his prayer yet. He told me that he had not and in his head knew that we should go to church even though he had felt that we should stay home so Bryan got into the car with me and we went to church. Once we got there Bryan noticed that Michelle felt wet and needed a diaper change. Well, we were already running late so I told him that I would change her after sacrament was passed. He said ok and we headed into church. Well as soon as we sat down Bryan smelt the smell of something that smells smelly so I picked up the diaper and wipes and took Michelle from Bryan to go change her. As I was walking past I noticed a rather large smudge of poo across Bryan's shirt. I told him to quickly grab Michelle's bags and we headed out the door. When I got into the mother's room I realized that I also had a larger smudge of poo poo all down the front of my shirt. We came to the realization that, as a family, we had been crapped on. So what's the moral of this story? Listen to Heavenly Father's promptings or you'll have a crappy day.
He thinks He's sooooo funny.

Chicka Chicka ABC
As many of you know I am a collector or children's books. I was looking on-line and found a board book called Chicka Chicka ABC. This happens to be a story that I have always liked, and thought it would be a great first book for Michelle. I've had it for a while, but didn't really think Michelle was old enough to enjoy it. Apparently I was wrong! Michelle likes to read, and really likes this book! We've read it so many times that I have the book memorized- this helps so that Michelle can hold the book while I recite the words on each page.
What Time Is It?!
Michelle has a very predictable schedule.
"I'm ready for bed at 8:00. I'll eat a bottle and nurse for 20min. I usually fall asleep halfway through nursing, but will keep eating while I drift in and out of sleep. I'm usually in my crib, and totally asleep by 8:30. Mom and Dad come to bed around 10:30, but I never wake up when they come in. I'm a pretty heavy sleeper. I'll stay asleep until 2:00am when Mom has to get up and feed me. I go right back asleep and don't wake up again until 5:30 or 6:00. This time I just need someone to come cover me back up because I kick my covers off through the night. Once I'm covered I'll fall back asleep until 7:30 when it's time for everyone to get up!"
She has had this schedule since she was a month old. Without fail- this was her schedule.
Then, one night last week, I woke up at 4:00am and realized Michelle hadn't woken me up yet. I panicked a little and went to check on her. When I got to her crib this is what I saw:
And she stayed that way until 6:00am! I couldn't believe it! All on her own she started sleeping through the night! Now, before you go getting all jealous you should know- this only lasted a week! The last two nights she has woken up at random times wanting to eat. I'm not sure if I should just let her fuss, or if she's going through a growth spurt and really needs to eat, but man... I sure do miss last week!
