Happy Half-Way Day!!

Friday marked my official half-way point! It's all down hill from here! (I'm SO excited!!) Bryan knew how pumped I was to have this day finally come so he gave me these beautiful Gerbers to help celebrate. They're, by far, my favorite flowers! They just make you happy...
He also planned for us to go out to dinner and to a movie (since we probably won't be doing much of that once the baby is born), but after working all day and finally getting home at 7:00.... we both decided to stay home. So we went on a walk together, ordered pizza, and watched a movie. To make it a little special I got to order my favorite pizza- Canadian Bacon and pineapple, instead of just pepperoni and cheese. After dinner Bryan talked me into taking a "half-way shot". Now remember, this is after a full day of playing with elementary kids, going on a walk, laying down to watch a movie... and lot of other things... I guess what I'm trying to say is- this was no glamor shot!

Bryan and I also have this little book that Jess let us borrow that we read from every week. It updates us on what's going on with our baby and what I should expect for that week. Here's a few things that I thought were really cool about this week:

My baby weighs 9oz and is 10 inches long from head to toe! (Isn't that crazy! TEN INCHES!)
She has fully developed ears, nose and lips. She's even working on eye brows! From this point on most women gain about 1 pound a week. (This means that I will have gained 24 pounds by the time I deliver. Not too bad...)

Some things that most women are experiencing at this point that I (for better or worse) am still missing:

Feeling their baby kick, and having their husbands feel it too! (I can't wait to feel her... Dr.Mos says it should be happening any day now. Let's all focus, really hard, together and maybe it will happen today!)Having consistent cravings for the same foods. (pickles and ice cream...eww! Thank goodness I'm not experiencing anything crazy like this yet!)
Having to buy maternity- everything -pants, shirts, underwear, bathing suits... (Thanks to my genius sister I have embraced the bella band, and haven't bought a single pair of maternity pants! I'm also lucky enough to never have to buy maternity underwear... I can't even imagine! lol!)

Amazing!

I can't believe it... Not only were all of those predictors (Chinese Calendars, Wives Tales, and Emily) all pointing to a girl.... but they were RIGHT!

IT'S A GIRL!

Bryan and I are so excited! We already have a name picked out, but after all of the "helpful opinions" we've gotten, we have decided to announce the name AFTER she is born. For anyone else having a baby and pondering names my advice to you is- Once you and your husband have both agreed on a name, and you both like it, Don't Tell Anyone! Everyone will have their stories about "I knew a girl in high school with that name... she was such a slut!" or "My room mate in college was named (your child future name) and man did I hate her." Or the worst responses you could get "Really?" or "So, are you going to call her by a nick name then?" I'm tellin' you some people just don't think before they speak.

So I got on to update my blog around 7:00 and started by looking for a cute baby girl layout. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know! I'm not really in love with this one, but I got tired of looking. Then I moved on to finding a cute header. I couldn't find one of those either. So I thought to my self, "How hard could this really be?!" I made my last header, but it was kinda plain. This time I wanted something that I would be impressed with. So I sat down and found a picture of a pregnant lady that I really liked, then I pasted her into paint and started messing around with background colors, designs to make it look neat, different color borders and so far... well, you can see what I have so far. I'm still working on it, but it's 9:00, I've been on the computer for 2 hours, and I'm ready for a bowl of ice cream!

Oh yeah! I gave my dad my sono pics and he's going to see if he can scan them into the computer so I can post them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hopefully I'll get to show them off in the next few days!

No news yet

I know I said we would know if it was a boy or a girl by the 8th, but Dr.Mos had to reschedule. So now we're counting down again to the 13th. Only 4 more days! However, I have to say that I am now more sure then ever that it's a girl! I've been playing around on-line and have done all of the "Anchient Chinese Predictors" and the "Mom-to-be's birthday v.s. your child-to-be's birthday" and all of those crazy little tests and all of them have said girl! Plus, the most accurate, non-scientific, proof that it's a girl... Emily said so! And so far Emily has always been right!

So here's what's going to happen. Since Bryan started his new job he won't be able to come with me to my ultrasound. So what I'm going to do is have Dr.Mos write the sex of the baby on a piece of paper and then we'll seal it in an envelope. Then when I see Bryan for lunch (right after my appointment) we'll open it together! My mom has already made arrangements for my dad and Jess and maybe Ben (If he's not on shift) to also be there at lunch, so right after Bryan and I find out they will get to find out! We're all so excited!
