Swine Flu

Ok, I have to try and understand something. The CDC says that swine flu is just another stand of the flu. It's treated the same as the flu, you feel the same symptoms, everything is the same as the normal flu- it's just a different strand. If this is true then why are so many schools shutting down?! And when they shut down they all give the re-open date of May 11... What is so special about May 11th? Is that when the flu is going to be done being contagious?! I just don't understand the thinking here...

Hey you might be in luck with this whole schools shutting down business.. Ben had a meeting at work today about this whole deal and the city administration expects McKinney ISD to be closed by monday.. If McKinney closes, Plano shouldn't be too far behind. VACAY!! lol.. But for shiz.. you wash your hands a gajillion times a day. You wouldn't want Michelin's first illness to be the swine flu!

I totally agree Randi. More people die from the regular flu each year. 300 people out of 6 billion are sick. I think it's a little premature for such panic. People look for things to worry about.
