Swine Flu

Ok, I have to try and understand something. The CDC says that swine flu is just another stand of the flu. It's treated the same as the flu, you feel the same symptoms, everything is the same as the normal flu- it's just a different strand. If this is true then why are so many schools shutting down?! And when they shut down they all give the re-open date of May 11... What is so special about May 11th? Is that when the flu is going to be done being contagious?! I just don't understand the thinking here...

Picture Time

I realize I haven't posted in quite a while so here's a little picture diary of what's been going on...

We all found out what happens when you're not home the night before Easter to make your own name egg- Ryan will make one for you! This is Daniel's name egg. It has been dyed 1/2 pink and 1/2 purple, then it was sprayed with glue and covered in sprinkles. All day on Easter Daniel was referred to as "Sprinkles".

Daniel has been working hard on a new piece of music that he's planning on performing at the ward talent show coming up! He's also been super busy with basketball- the East team try outs are coming up!

Ryan had his first experience with a popcorn maker the other day. (He was helping dad make popcorn balls! Yum!) I couldn't catch it in a picture, but for any of you who have used a hot air popper before you know not to remove the lid until all the popcorn is TOTALLY done popping (sometimes 30 seconds or more after you think it should be done). Ryan learned this the hard way- it was too funny!

Ryan also held Clayton for the first time! He's always played with Clayton, but until now he never felt like Clayton was stable enough for him to hold him. Clayton loves his Uncle Ryan!

Jessica has had her hands full taking care of Clayton. He's recently become a little... let call it curious. For example, he was curious to see what made a cell phone work. After throwing Jessica's phone on the ground a few times the back came off and the battery flew out. Luckily Jess was able to fix it with out any major damage done! If you go to Jessica's blog you can see a video of Clayton at his 6th month check up. If you look at the table Clayton is laying on you can see all the paper ripped up and crinkled... like I said, he's just a little curious about things!

Mom bought Clayton his first exo-saucer! He loves this thing! He's a little A.D.D. when he's in it though. He'll spin the chickens, then push the horse, the pull on the cow, and then back to the chickens. He doesn't ever play with one toy for more then 2 or 3 seconds. It's really cute!

Mom has also done quite a bit of "exo-saucering" herself. She's worked out her own diet plan combining the cookie diet and weight watchers. She also goes to the gym almost every day after work! So far she's lost a lot and is still going! "You go girl!" She's nice enough to not hold everyone else to her diet and still makes yummy treats for us to enjoy! (Here she's making banana pudding!) I love my mom!

Katie and Clayton both have the same freakish camera issues! Every time I tried to take a picture of either of them they gave me these faces! Every Time!

And here's me... only 7 weeks to go!
In case you're wondering why I don't have any pictures of Bryan up here it's because I don't get to see a whole lot of him these days. His new job has him working 10 hour days and when he's not working he's looking for another job. He's an amazing husband and I couldn't be more proud of how hard he works to take care of our little family!

Perfect

I have the most amazing news! My best friend, Stephanie, is getting married to another one of my close friends, Steve! I couldn't be more happy for them! Stephanie is such an amazing person, and Steve is genuinely a great guy! I'm not sure of the date yet, but I know it will be some time in July. Of course, with the amazing news came some really sad news... they are moving to Pennsylvania! I was seriously depressed about this for a good 20 minutes last night. Then Bryan lectured me about how I should "get over it" because I don't get to see her that off ten anyway. So then I yelled at him to be more sensitive and how Stephanie was still my best friend! Anyway- to make a long story short I went from be absolutely thrilled to very sad and then angry with Bryan all within an hour. I've decided to not focus on the moving part and just be excited for Stephanie and Steve. Stephanie- I couldn't imagine a more perfect guy for you! And Steve, I hope you know how lucky you are! Congratulations you guys!

And if they weren't enough... Bryan's Dad is getting married! (Also in July) He and Lori have been dating for a long time now. Bryan and I used to talk about how good they were together and wondered why they weren't getting married. Then, just as we were starting to think his dad might not ever get married again, Ta-Da! He took Lori on a trip and proposed! So here's what I have stacked on my calendar-

April = Bethany's Wedding (Bryan's cousin)

May= Kati & Ryan's Wedding (Not my sister Katie, Kati Tolle)

June= Baby Due

July= Tom & Lori, AND Stephanie & Steve's Weddings

Love is definitely in the air! Congratulations to all!

My Life At A Glance

The eating portion should probably be bigger... then again so should the "looking for things I had just a minute ago" section!
Anyone else feel this way?
