This weekend was my baby shower. It was so much fun! My mom and Jessica did a really great job putting everything together- it really turned out great! Bryan and I got a TON of stuff! We now have a lovely little wardrobe (that takes up 1/3 of our closet), and all the basic necessities for having a baby. Here are a few pics from the shower...
This was the game table. Right when the guests walked in they got to guess the number of diapers in the diaper cake, guess the price of the baby basics basket, try to figure out how many safety pins it would take to wrap around the widest part of my belly, and fill in a baby gift bingo sheet. These were all great games! I'm not a huge fan of most baby shower games, but these were just perfect!
We also had a lot of yummy treats to eat! Mmmm... that was a really good lunch!
And for those of you who didn't get to see it in person...
Isn't that cake beautiful?! If any of you are looking for an AMAZING cake place I would highly recommend The Cake Stand in McKinney. It's owned by an LDS lady named Tammy. She does an awesome job with all of her cakes! Jessica and I both used her for our weddings and again for our baby showers. Her cakes are delicious and always beautiful!
Now for two of the best gifts! Bryan and I are so lucky to have such wonderful mom's!
My mom bought an extremely comfortable glider for me. It's going to be so nice to have a comfortable and relaxing place to sit while I'm spending time with my baby girl. I have discovered one flaw with this glider though... When I came home from work the other day I went straight up stairs and sat down in it to talk with Bryan for a bit and almost fell asleep! Late night feedings might be difficult with such a comfy chair. .... Oh well!
Bryan's mom bought us a stroller/car seat combo! It's going to be so nice to have a car seat that will go straight from the car to the stroller and back to the car with out ever having to wake up a potentially sleeping baby! This stroller got great reviews too! It opens and folds closed pretty easily (much easier for Bryan then for me), and the car seat snaps in and out really smoothly!
So, when we got both of these gifts Bryan immediately went into "Bryan the Builder" mode and put them together for me! The stroller was a lot more tricky to figure out how to assemble... mainly because Bryan didn't find the instructions until he was half way done!
Jack wanted to help too!
Ta Da!
And what was I doing while Bryan was building away?
Making banana nut bread of course!
